Spring Assessments
Its never to early to start planning so we wanted to let you know that Spring Assessments will be on Saturday February 25th at Champions Sports starting at 8:30am. If you are not sure where it is click here for a map.
Your player must attend assessments if:
- They are moving up a division (i.e. - Moving from TBall to Rookie or Minor to Major)
- They are 6 years old and would like to be assessed to move up to Rookie
- They are 10 years old and would like to be assessed to move up to Major
Assessment Schedule
6 year olds who would like to be assessed to move up to Rookie
8:30-8:45am
Rookie (6 year olds from above, 7 & 8 year olds)
8:45-10:30am
Minor/Major League (including 10 year olds who want to be assessed)
10:30-12:30pm
***Players should bring a glove with them to assessments***
WeeBall and TBall Players DO NOT have to attend assessments, unless they are 6 year olds and would like to be assessed to move up to Rookie
Coaching Applications
JCYB is now accepting coaching applications for spring 2012. EVERYONE (head or assistant coaches) must turn in their application and Babe Ruth certification to be considered. You can email a scanned/digital copy to taylorchips@yahoo.com or mail it in to the league:

Baseball Signup Information
It’s hard to believe the time is upon us again but here we are. Honestly we cannot wait for the 2012 spring season to start! It’s an exciting time; the smell of fresh cut grass, bats cracking, those awesome ballpark hotdogs, warmer weather and roars of the crowds…you get the picture. Can you tell we’re excited? Historically we have only held signups on Saturdays in February. Last year we added online registration which was a huge success! We want to give parents every opportunity to sign their children up because let’s face it; you’ve got a lot going on. This year we have extended the signup dates to give you every opportunity possible for getting registered. That being said, here are the 2012 spring signup dates along with other important information:
- Online registration begins January 2nd and ends February 24th at midnight (link will be on jcyb.org starting on Jan. 2nd)
- Walk up registration will be on Saturdays in February at the park, times to be announced
- Registration at Dicks Sporting Goods in Lexington on Feb. 11th from 11a - 2p
- Assessments will be at Champions on Feb. 25th from 8:30a - 12:30p
- Draft will be held Feb. 26th
- Team Spirit Night/Opening Ceremony will be held on Fri. April 13th (more information coming soon)
- Opening Day is Sat. April 14th
- Picture Day is Sat. April 21st
- Legends Day TBA
- Party in the Park TBA
- Last Day of Regular season is June 9th
- League Tournament is June 11 - 16th
Now on to some other news:
JCYB would like to inform you of the Upward Basketball and Cheerleading program at Faith United Community Church here in Nicholasville. If your child is interested in participating this is a great program that has been around for several years and signups are going on as we speak. Early registration ends December 10th and the deadline for registration is December 16th so signup today! If you have questions please contact Jamey Brafford or Tim Cross (contact numbers are on registration form linked below). Here are a few details and a link to the printable registration form. EJHS Back to School Camp
Coach Clary’s 1st annual Back to School camp is designed for all levels of younger players who are determined to play at a higher level. The camp offers the young player the opportunity to prepare for their fall season in a fun and positive learning atmosphere. Our staff will teach each player baseball fundamentals, drill work specifically designed to improve each camper’s offensive and defensive skills, and also simulated game situations.
Dates: Friday, September 2nd from 5pm-8pm and Saturday, September 3rd from 9am-noon.
Ages: 6-14
Cost: $95

East Jessamine High School Baseball Field
Equipment
Each camper must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, cleats, hat, batting helmet, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear.

Fall Baseball Signups
Its that time of year again, time for Fall Baseball! For those who don't know Fall Baseball is more instructional baseball with a shorter season and less of a cost to parents. Games are still played in full but in a less competitive atmosphere compared to the Spring seasons. Some parents try to introduce their children to this season if they have never played baseball to see if it interests them. Others just want their experienced players to get more games and practice time in. Whatever your intentions may be we welcome you.
Online registration will be available August 1st - 20th, 24/7. If you prefer to signup in person please see below for dates and times. If you have a Spirit card for this year you will need to signup in person in order to get the discount. Please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate to signups. If you use online registration you will still need to turn in a copy before the season starts.

Parents will be contacted by their coach the week of August 22nd. From that point the coach will determine a practice schedule. Games will run from September 6th - October 8th. We look forward to seeing you this fall season!
