Lexington Legends Clinic

Very Exciting News!  This Saturday, the players from the Lexington Legends will be hosting a clinic for our baseball players from 10am until 12pm for anyone that can attend.

All that is required of the player is to purchase a $6.00 ticket for the night of our JCYB outing on May 11th. The ticket order is due this Saturday.  See your team mom for details.

We are very excited about this opportunity that they are offering us!  We hope to have a great turn out. They will be bringing their mascot as well.  This was the only time we could schedule due to their baseball home schedules.  This clinic will be conducted on the Babe Ruth field. We hope to see everyone there.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Picture Day

As a reminder, this Saturday is Picture Day.

All teams will need to arrive one hour before their game time begins in order to be ready for pictures.

Pictures will be taken on the Babe Ruth field.

Order forms are available for pick up in the concession stand if any teams or parents want to take a look at them prior to Saturday but for the most part the packages are the same.

Picture money is due Saturday.

Please let us know if you have any questions!

Letter from the President

The Jessamine County Youth Baseball (J.C.Y.B.) Board of Directors would like to welcome you to a new season of baseball. We are very excited about our league and are committed to providing a safe and fun learning environment in which your child will have the opportunity to meet new friends, build confidence and learn the skills to become a successful athlete.

Spring is here – and with it the pop of gloves and the crack of the bats are being heard all over the park as the game of baseball has once again taken seed here at J.C.Y.B. This season promises to be one of the best ever as we continue to make improvements for our participants. Some of last year’s accomplishments include;

•    Batting cage was redone with new netting and concrete surface.
•    Constructed safer infield playing surfaces on two infields.
•    Improved coaching abilities with specialized training to better assist coaches in developing your young athlete.
•    Increased the number of innings to be played by all players by increasing the number of games during the season.
•    J.C.Y.B. became “SMOKE FREE” for the safety and health of all participants.

Some new goals / improvements for this season include;

•    Babe Ruth League will be back this year for our 13 – 15 year olds.
•    Installation of a second batting cage.
•    Upgrades to be done on Coach Pitch and T-Ball infields.
•    Upgrade of concession stand to offer better service and food selection to all park attendees.
•    All scoreboards are being updated with new parts.
•    J.C.Y.B. Apparel Store also coming this season to give parents a way to purchase official league items to show support for their team and league.
•    Parents are no longer required to volunteer in concession stand. We still need parents to volunteer around the park on different projects but wanted to remove concession stand duty so parents could enjoy their day at the park with their family.

We are also proud to announce that our 8 year old and our 12U year old All Star teams were District Champions last season. Congratulations to our young athletes and volunteer coaches on their outstanding accomplishments. Special recognition of their accomplishment will be displayed on their respective fields for all to enjoy this season.

On a personal note, your league is a complete baseball program that includes the youngest wee-ball player to the oldest Babe Ruth player. J.C.Y.B. is a program that strives to leave no ball player behind and works to coach young athletes of all talents to a higher level. Rest assured you can be very proud of your J.C.Y.B. League and its volunteers who work tirelessly to make this a great, rewarding experience for our youth, families and community.

Finally, I believe inside all kids, regardless of God given talent, there is a stronger God given desire to play ball. Everything we do is done in the best interest of our youth. They are the reason we are here and we all need to remember this as the heat of the season rises and the competition fires up. Please take note of the park rules and comply with them. We are all truly blessed to have this opportunity to play a role in the development of our children and young athletes. It is now my pleasure to say – BATTER UP, LET’S PLAY BALL! Have a great season!

Respectfully,

John Branscum, J.C.Y.B. President
J.C.Y.B. Board of Directors

JCYB Work Day

In order to prepare for the upcoming spring season we have a work day each year.  As you can imagine the fields and facilities need attention from sitting all winter.  Work Day will be at the baseball fields from 9a to 6p on Saturday March 24th.  We invite parents, coaches or anyone who wants to help out.  If you can spare 10 minutes or 8 hours it doesn't matter, we appreciate any amount of time spent helping.  The more people we have the faster we can get it done.  Thanks and hope to see you out there!
